Seed Identifier Privacy Policy
This policy explains what the iPhone app processes, why it is needed, and the choices available to you.
Content You Choose to Analyze
When you request a seed identification or ask a follow-up question, the selected photo, text, and relevant conversation context are sent through AIProxy to Anthropic so the requested AI feature can work. Do not submit content you do not have permission to process.
Saved Results and iCloud
Identification results and chat history you save are stored on your device. They may sync through Apple CloudKit when iCloud is available and enabled for the app. Apple processes that synced data under its own privacy terms. You can delete saved records inside the app.
Analytics
Aptabase receives limited pseudonymous product-interaction events to help us understand reliability and feature usage. Seed names, scientific names, family names, photos, prompts, questions, chat content, and raw error messages are excluded from analytics. We do not use advertising trackers.
Purchases and In-App Services
Apple processes App Store purchases and subscription billing. Superwall helps present subscription offers and receives purchase or paywall interaction information needed for that function. FeaturePortal may provide product feedback or support features when you choose to use them.
Retention and Control
Local saved records remain until you delete them or remove the app. CloudKit retention follows your Apple account and deletion choices. AI and service providers may retain request data for security, abuse prevention, and service operation according to their terms. You can avoid AI processing by not submitting a photo or question.
No Sale or Advertising Tracking
We do not sell personal data, and the app does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites for advertising. Information is shared only with the providers needed to deliver features, analytics, purchases, feedback, security, or legal compliance.
Children and Sensitive Content
Seed Identifier is not directed to children under 13. Do not submit faces, identification documents, health information, exact locations, or other sensitive personal content in photos or questions.

Policy Changes
